BTSO March Council Meeting was held at the Chamber Service Building with the participation of council members. BTSO Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors İsmail Kuş stated that they witnessed a transition process in which the world was reshaped. Noting that the communication channels of the economic management are constantly open during this process, it increases the morale and motivation of the business world, İsmail Kuş said, “In March, we welcomed people who have a say in the economic management, such as our Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, our Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, and our Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, in our Chamber. we hosted. In these meetings, we shared the expectations of our 55 thousand members, from price stability to reducing financing costs to inflation accounting. To date, many regulations ranging from production to employment, from trade to export have been implemented in line with the demands of our Chamber. We believe that our recent demands will be met at the highest level.” he said.

“WE ARE WORKING WITH THE GOAL OF A STRONG CITY NOT ONLY TODAY, BUT ALSO IN THE FUTURE”

Noting that BTSO has become an exemplary center of expertise where knowledge and experience are shared and unity and solidarity are embodied with the vision and projects it has put forward in the last 11 years, İsmail Kuş emphasized that they want to produce value for a city that is strong not only today but also in the future. “For this reason, we have implemented each of our projects by focusing on the needs of future generations.” İsmail Kuş continued his speech as follows: “We aim for a Bursa that has managed to become a center of attraction not only in our country but also in the world, with its value-added production, qualified employment, modern transportation networks and strong trade connections. However, with the increase in population, rapid urbanization and unplanned production facilities, Bursa became a city that had to struggle with problems such as traffic, environment and air pollution. On the other hand, our companies, which had to produce and export in limited areas, were stuck in unplanned industrial areas within the city. Moreover, these companies are deprived of the opportunities that will put them ahead in the competition, especially in logistics. "The SME OIZ project emerged in line with the demands of our companies and the needs of our Bursa, which express the need for a more qualified and competitive production area louder every year."

“SME OIZ WILL BE A TURNING POINT FOR BURSA ECONOMY”

İsmail Kuş stated that thousands of manufacturing companies have shaped the demands they have expressed for many years with the work of the BTSO SME Council and said, “Our SME OIZ project, in cooperation with our Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, has turned into a strategic move that we see as a turning point for the future of the city. Our SME OIZs, which we will implement together with our Metropolitan Municipality, will bring our businesses, which are suitable for economies of scale, allowing capacity increases, supported by modern logistics opportunities, and thus our Bursa, to a much more competitive structure. Our SMEs, which contribute greatly to the city and country economy even in existing production areas, will significantly increase exports, employment and total business volumes in planned new industrial areas. Likewise, our logistics centers will increase the competitiveness of our companies with integrated and modern transportation connections. In addition, with the formation of new reserve areas, Bursa will run its urban transformation processes more efficiently, the city's traffic load will be lighter, and it will have a more ideal structure in terms of air pollution and environmental impacts. In this context, I hope that the cooperation protocol we signed with our Metropolitan Municipality will be beneficial for our Bursa and our country, especially our manufacturing SMEs.” he said.

“THE FOUR-YEAR PERIOD WITHOUT ELECTIONS SHOULD BE ASSESSED WELL”

BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur reminded that local elections will be held on Sunday, March 31st and wished the election results to be auspicious. Stating that with the completion of the elections, Turkey will have a 4-year election-free period focused on economic stability and development, Uğur said, “Together, we will ensure that our country reaches the re-targeted growth figures in the axis of production, investment, employment and exports under the guidance of the Medium Term Program. We continue to convey our members' demands, suggestions and expectations directly to our Government in this regard. We emphasize that economic reforms and structural transformation must be carried out as soon as possible. As Bursa business world, we will continue our work with the understanding of more production, more exports and more employment.” he said.
