Higher Education Board Increased International Research Scholarships

The Higher Education Board provided great support to doctoral students and researchers by increasing international research scholarships. Details about the scholarship size and application process are in our news.

Scholarship Size and Application Process

The amount of scholarships given to doctoral students and researchers who benefit from programs within the scope of International Research Projects has been increased. With this increase, the scholarship amount was increased to 30 thousand TL per month. Additionally, transportation support was determined as 15 thousand TL. Scholarship applications can be made between 4 March and 26 April 2024.

Research Programs and Supports

There are many programs and supports within the framework of International Researcher Projects initiated by the Council of Higher Education. These include the Academic Accumulation Program, Postdoctoral Research Program, Young Minds Program and the Higher Education Delegation Support Program for International Scientists.

Academic Accumulation Program (AKAP)

With the "Academic Accumulation Program - AKAP" project prepared within the scope of academic leave abroad (Sabbatical) for faculty members, a total of 200 faculty members from universities are sent abroad to conduct research on paid academic leave.

Postdoctoral Research Program (DOSAP)

100 Research Assistants or Drs who completed their doctoral education working in higher education institutions. Faculty Members are supported for their postdoctoral academic studies abroad.

Young Minds Program (GEP)

100 doctoral students working in the research team of universities are offered the opportunity to conduct research abroad for one to three months, without any field restrictions.

Higher Education Delegation Support Program for International Scientists

The aim is for doctoral students and researchers from the world's distinguished universities to come to Turkey and conduct research at international standards. In this context, foreign students who are studying for a doctorate in the fields of Turkish Language, Turkish Literature, Turcology, Turkish and Ottoman History or Turkish Culture at higher education institutions abroad, and foreign researchers who have completed their doctorate within the last two years are given the opportunity to conduct research at universities in Turkey.
