Freight and Passenger Transportation Sector in KTO Delivered Their Demands to Deputy Çopuroğlu

Kayseri Chamber of Commerce continues its expanded professional committee meetings with the participation of Members of Parliament. KTO 39th Freight and Passenger Transportation Professional Committee consultation meeting; It was held with the participation of AK Party Kayseri Deputy Şaban Çopuroğlu, KTO President Ömer Gülsoy, AK Party Provincial Organization officials, committee members and logistics company officials.

Speaking at the meeting, Mayor Gülsoy said, “Our logistics sector is very important for us in terms of the exports of our city. We know that without transportation there will be no trade, exports or aid. For this reason, we brought together our sector representatives and committee members with our AK Party Kayseri Deputy Şaban Çopuroğlu. They had the opportunity to express their problems and demands in their sectors. Mr. I would like to thank our MPs for their participation in the meeting.” said.

At the meeting, committee members and sector representatives listed the problems they experienced and their demands as follows:

-Problems arising from the lack of a Logistics Center and Highway for the freight transportation sector in Kayseri,

– Making the SRC age limit permanent by 65 year by increasing it from 69 to 1 for drivers who carry out commercial cargo and passenger transportation and have a professional qualification certificate,

– Request to reduce the minimum age for obtaining a driver's license from 24 to 20 or 22, stating that it is difficult to find competent and sufficient personnel in cargo and passenger transportation due to the minimum age for obtaining a driver's license,

-Request to ensure instant SSI entries for employees in the freight and passenger transportation sector, as in other sectors,

– Stating that if a one-time amnesty is introduced for the penalty points of heavy vehicle drivers (except for those who drive under the influence of alcohol and those who are involved in a fatal accident), the driver problem will be reduced to some extent, and a request for a study to be carried out on this issue,

– As a sector, the necessity of switching to VAT with withholding in order to prevent VAT losses, and accordingly the request to start work to switch to inflation accounting,

– Supervising online ticket sales due to problems with refugees traveling intercity,

– Logistics companies state that they are subject to the 1975 TIR Convention when carrying out international transportation, and that although the goods carried by the logistics company are suitable in terms of container/kilo/packaging by the truck driver, the carrier should not be held responsible for problems arising from the fault of the sender or receiver, and problems occur at customs gates in this regard. Requesting that initiatives be taken to resolve the issue,

– The problem of the logistics sector not being informed in detail about the Emergency Disaster Action Plan by the Ministry, the request for work to be carried out to inform the sector about the emergency action plan for possible disasters,

– Request to reduce the retrospective calculation period of severance pay from five years to three months or one year,

– Request for the establishment of Kayseri Specialized Customs for the sector,

– Due to the large shortage of drivers in the sector, the demand for state-supported training of drivers through on-the-job training programs and the expansion of vocational training to include training drivers for freight and passenger transportation,

– Request for initiatives to be taken to speed up the construction of the TIR Park at the Gürbulak border gate, as it negatively affects traffic and costs,

– Request for initiatives to be taken to resolve the third country loading dock and insurance problems at Azerbaijani customs, and visa and insurance problems at Turkmenistan customs,

– Companies providing student/staff transportation, request to solve the problems related to the allocated plate (P Plate),

– Request to establish a police station at the bus station due to the problems experienced due to the lack of a police station at the Intercity Bus Terminal,

– Request that the privileges enjoyed by international transport companies exporting vehicles with foreign license plates (having an export declaration) be restricted or abolished when purchasing fuel oil while in Turkey,

– The Freight and Passenger Transportation sector's request to work on reducing the fees charged for driving licenses in order to eliminate the driver shortage,

-19. They requested that a study be initiated to apply the initiative applied to EDS speed limits for passenger vehicles to commercial vehicles as well.

Listening to the sector representatives one by one at the meeting, AK Party Kayseri Deputy Şaban Çopuroğlu called the Minister of Labor and Social Security Prof. on his mobile phone. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan called the Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and conveyed the problems and demands of the transportation sector at the consultation meeting and asked for support in the solution phase. He stated that he would present a file with solution suggestions.
