TOTAL ECONOMIC GAIN WILL BE APPROXIMATELY 800 MILLION EUROS

Minister Uraloğlu also explained the details of the 'Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System and Pedestrian-Oriented New Generation Transportation Project', which will be put into service by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on February 26, as follows:

““Within the scope of our project; We also contributed to the people of Istanbul by building 7,3 kilometers of pedestrian and bicycle paths, 122 thousand 550 square meters of squares and recreation areas, 6 thousand square meters of closed social and cultural areas, 74 thousand square meters of new green areas, 22 highways and pedestrian underpasses. We used 215 thousand 92 square meters of the 450 thousand square meters of work area for railway transportation. The remaining 122 thousand 550 square meters were designed as pedestrian walking area, bicycle and scooter track, resting, sports and recreation areas. Thus, we brought a new generation transportation project to our Istanbul. By opening this section to the pedestrian use of our citizens of Istanbul, we have provided a large green area opportunity in the heart of the city. Within the scope of our project, while creating rail systems, pedestrian and micro mobility vehicles, and social activity areas, we also rehabilitated pedestrian and highway underpasses that have been causing chronic traffic and security problems for years. In other words, with our project, we not only constructed the railway, but also made other arrangements that will increase the comfort of life of the people living in the surrounding area along the line. Within the scope of our project, we also include our registered stops in Yedikule, Kocamustafapaşa, Yenikapı and Kumkapı, which are heirlooms from our ancestors; We worked together with art historians, architects, restorers and archaeologists to restore it in line with the board's decisions. Again, within the scope of the project, we modernized the intersection connecting the Sahil road and Samatya and Cerrahpaşa hospitals, increased the underpass clearance and made it suitable for ambulance transportation. We added a new stop that will facilitate access to Cerrahpaşa and Samatya Hospitals. Thanks to our project, the total economic gain will be approximately 2024 million Euros between 2053 and 800, with the savings in highway operation and maintenance, reduction in traffic accidents and time.
