Reminding that they allocated 150 million lira from the budget for support projects for farmers last year, Mayor Ergün said, “In this context, we started our support in 2023 with the distribution of 1.000 tons of fertilizer. Then, we supported 500 breeding rams within the scope of our Herd Improvement Project in Small Cattle Breeding. With a 100 percent grant, we purchased external parasite medicine for 58 thousand cattle and delivered these medicines to our producers by providing them with training. With our Agricultural Machinery Park Project, we delivered the third batch of agricultural machines, which our farmers need but would create an economic burden if purchased, with 3 machines. With our support of 69 million TL for the agricultural machinery park alone, we delivered a total of 7 machines and equipment to our farmers.

We distributed 120 thousand crates to our olive and fruit producers and 100 thousand kelter to our grape and vegetable producers. Following this, we distributed olive collection mats to 10 farmers and grape display mats to 7 farmers at a cost of approximately 500 million liras. Within the scope of our Fruit Cultivation Development project, we distributed a total of 7 thousand 500 saplings, including Olive, Walnut, Fig and Persimmon, with our 2023 percent grant support in 75. "We delivered 116 olive saplings to our producers whose olive groves were burned in the Hatıplar and Sarısığırlı neighborhoods of our Saruhanlı district, which was shaken by the forest fire," he said.

Stating that they attach great importance to agricultural irrigation projects, which are indispensable for farmers, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün said, “With the agricultural irrigation facilities built by our Metropolitan Municipality and the 3 facilities we took over from DSI, we provide irrigation services to our farmers in an area of ​​26 thousand decares, at a price that will only cover their energy expenses. . In addition, we implemented the Öveçli Drip Irrigation System Project, worth approximately 4 million 10 thousand TL, for which we were entitled to receive a grant of 600 million TL from Zafer Development Agency. Within the scope of the project we started in Öveçli District of Kırkağaç district, we will protect our water resources by switching an area of ​​2 thousand 100 decares to closed system drip irrigation. In addition, this year we built 31 new Animal Drinking Water ponds and carried out cleaning and expansion work in 80 ponds. We have built 2014 new Animal Drinking Water Ponds since 210. We carried out cleaning and maintenance works in 542 existing ponds. These ponds are of great importance for our regions where animals have difficulty accessing clean and healthy water. In addition, we provide free service to our farmers with our 60 tar filling facilities throughout our province so that they can get water for their spraying machines. We continue to work to add new facilities to these facilities. We provided pipes, drilling and many other supports to our agricultural irrigation cooperatives. We also built a water tank and pool. "We continue our support this year by allocating a budget of 10 million lira for the purchase of irrigation pipes," he said.
