Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu opened the Konya Rail System Projects Promotion Program and Sedirler Köprülü Junction. The project, which was implemented together with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Konya Metropolitan Municipality in order to reduce Konya's urban traffic, aims to reduce Konya's urban traffic together with Konya urban rail systems and Sedirler Köprülü Junction.

Emphasizing that a total of 22 billion 128 million liras of investment has been made in Konya in the past 535 years and that the length of the divided road in Konya, which was 167 kilometers, was increased to 1.282 kilometers, Minister Uraloğlu said, “As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we invested 128 billion 535 million for the transportation and communication infrastructure of Konya. We invested lira. We increased the length of Konya's divided road from 167 kilometers to 1.282 kilometers. We made 614 kilometers of single-road improvements. We built the highest pier and longest balanced cantilever bridge in our country with Eğiste Hadimi Viaduct in Konya. With this project, we have put a seal on the Taurus Mountains by uninterruptedly connecting the Mediterranean Region and the Central Anatolia Region. We currently have 8 separate highway projects ongoing, such as Konya Ring Road, Alacabel Tunnel, Konya-Ereğli-Ulukışla Road, Akşehir-Yunak Road. Their project cost is approximately 26,5 billion lira. We have made very important investments in strengthening Konya's railway network. We opened the Ankara-Konya High Speed ​​Train and Konya-Karaman High Speed ​​Train Lines. "With Kayacık Logistics Center, we have made Konya a very important logistics base," he said.

APPROXIMATELY 46 KILOMETERS OF KONYARAY ARE BEING REALIZED

Talking about the details about Konyaray, which has a line length of approximately 46 kilometers, which will be implemented within the scope of urban rail systems projects, Uraloğlu said, “We also started the Konyaray Project. With our project with a total length of 45,9 kilometers; We will provide fast and economical public transportation services and improve freight transportation between Konya Train Station, City Center, organized industrial zones and industrial areas, airport, logistics center and Pınarbaşı. We will build the project in 3 separate stages. We will increase the total number of lines to four by adding a new line between the 28-kilometer Konya Train Station and Kayacık Logistics Center, which is the first phase of our project, for which we delivered the site on April 1 last year. We will operate YHT on 19,7 lines, and Konyaray suburban and conventional trains on 2 lines. "With its newly built stations, modern, fast and comfortable operating system, this line will be at the service of the people of Konya with its surface metro feature," he said.

Minister Uraloğlu also stated that it will serve the industrial zone of Konyaray, where 13 stations are located, thus aiming to reduce the traffic congestion experienced during working hours.

Uraloğlu added that after the first stage, the line in the 2nd stage, which will enter Konya 3nd and 2rd Industrial Zone, will be built as a double line, and that they plan to build 3 lines in the 4rd stage between Kaşınhanı-Konya Terminal, Kayacık Logistics-Pınarbaşı.

Stating that both the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Konya Metropolitan Municipality have developed new projects to reduce urban traffic congestion in Konya, Uraloğlu said the following about the projects:

“These lines; The 20-kilometer Selçuk University-Aladdin Light Rail System Line, the 10-kilometer-long 2nd stage of the City Hospital-Stadium Tram Line, the first stage of which was tendered to our Metropolitan Municipality, the 10-kilometer Necmettin Erbakan University-Aladdin Rail System Line and the 15,6-kilometer-long Fetih Street. -Ahmet Özcan Tram Line. In summary, our ministry will bring 55,6 kilometers of rail system line to Konya. With the Selçuk University-Aladdin Line, we will provide service with our metro line that will increase speed and comfort in the high-density corridor. We carry out the project work in coordination with the Metropolitan Municipality. We will ensure that the Konya rail system network provides the most effective service by integrating the Fetih Street tram line, which surrounds Konya city center in a ring shape, with all existing and planned rail system lines. "The project planning work of the line is carried out by Konya Metropolitan Municipality under the coordination of our Ministry."
