End of Term Evaluation from Eğitim-Bir-Sen Bursa

In the statement made by Eğitim-Bir-Sen Bursa Branch No. 1 President Ramazan Acar, it was emphasized that the mistakes made in the previous academic year will be evaluated and preparations will be made for the next semester.

In the statement in question, Acar said that the first semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year is being completed. He wished our students and education staff a good and pleasant holiday after a long and tiring working period.

Stating that the mid-term break will be an opportunity to put our hats in front of us and say 'what we left missing, how can we complete it?', Acar said, "This opportunity should be evaluated by education administrators, politicians, parents and all students. Everyone should see this interim period as an opportunity to complete the deficiencies in their areas of authority and responsibility and to plan the work to be done and innovations. Initiating a radical curriculum change in order to bring a more national spirit to education with a new philosophy of education and a new approach, ensuring that elective religious courses are chosen at least once in a four-year period with the change in course schedules, monitoring students' school attendance, making failing grades functional, parents making appointments to school. While we see steps such as bringing seriousness to education and making the teacher's job easier with steps such as introducing mobile phones, valuing teachers with teachers' room meetings, receiving demands firsthand, following up and resolving them, as appropriate and long-awaited developments, we see that positive steps and solution-oriented approaches are increasingly being adopted. to continue; "We expect the same determination to be shown in the urgent problems of education and education workers that need solutions," he said.

“LEGAL REGULATION SHOULD BE MADE FOR A CAREER SYSTEM THAT INCREASES THE MOTIVATION OF EDUCATORS”

In his statement, Ramazan Acar also noted that the uncertainty created by the Constitutional Court decision in the career stages process should be eliminated and said, “The written exam requirement should be abolished, and a process based on the year of service should be created. "In order for the candidate teacher and career stages process to function properly, legal regulations should be made for a career system that increases the motivation of teachers, in line with the justification of the Constitutional Court's annulment decision," he said.

Meanwhile, Acar said, “Teaching Profession Law No. 7354 should be reconsidered; In this context, in appointments to teacher positions, the principle of taking only the superiority of Public Personnel Selection Examination scores should be adopted and interviews should be abolished. Vocational law should be given a content that deserves to be described as 'professional law'. In areas where employment is difficult, attractive rather than coercive methods should be applied; He also called for "additional compensation should be paid as in the health services class and technical services class."

In his statement, Acar noted that there is an urgent need to find a solution to the problem of stray dogs that threaten people, especially children and the elderly, and said, “Street dogs have become a threat to the safety and health of educational environments. Dozens of children have been injured so far in dog attacks, some of which have resulted in death. Turkey does not deserve a photo of people being attacked by dogs in the middle of the street. "The authorities must fulfill their duties and responsibilities and save our country from this shame," he said.
