Neighborhood headmen across the province supported the "Women of Kocaeli Hand in Hand" aid campaign, launched by Kocaeli Producing and Managing Women Platform for the construction of a school in Hatay, with the support of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, by donating 151 thousand 550 lira. Kocaeli Producing and Managing Women Platform, which was established to help earthquake victims after the earthquake that occurred on February 6, centered in Kahramanmaraş, has now rolled up its sleeves to build a school after the rehabilitation center established in Hatay with the support of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and donations from philanthropists. Mukhtars across the province also supported the "Women of Kocaeli Hand in Hand" aid campaign initiated by the platform. Deputy Secretary General Hasan Aydınlık, Head of Mukhtar Affairs Department Numan Balaban, Kocaeli Producing and Managing Women Platform President Sevim Pek Yürür and presidents of the districts' headman associations attended the meeting held at the Metropolitan Municipality Headman's Office.
THANKS TO PLATFORM MEMBERS AND HEADMEN
Deputy Secretary General Aydınlık thanked the platform members who set out for such an auspicious and beautiful cause and the neighborhood headmen who supported the aid campaign, on behalf of the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın. Pekyür, the president of the platform, said that they established the platform after the February 6 earthquake to help Hatay and Antakya, which were most affected by the destruction. Stating that they first initiated the establishment of a rehabilitation center serving 4 cities in the region, Pek Yürür said, “Later, we saw that there was a need for a school. When we conveyed the idea of building a school to our President Büyükakın, he said, "You start building the school, I will support the rest." We organized a night for the campaign. Our headmen supported us at night, but they said we want to support again. They donated for the second time. "We thank each and every one of them," he said.

Stating that the land for the school was given by the Hayat Governorship, Pek Yürür said:
“Our project is ready. I hope it will be ready in time for the 2024-2025 academic year. We will have a school with 12 classrooms. It will include a library, conference hall and computer room. We thank our President Büyükakın very much for being with us and believing in us.”
HEADMEN DELIVERED THE DONATION RECEIPT
President of Başiskele Mukhtars Association and Ovacık Neighborhood Headman İlhan Altıntaş handed over the receipt of the 151 thousand 550 lira donation collected from headmen across Kocaeli and deposited into the platform's account to the platform president Pekyüzür and wished him good luck.
