'Ukraine' Message from Minister Uraloğlu

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. He attended the 'Forum for the Reconstruction of Ukraine' held at the Hilton Maslak Hotel in Istanbul, together with Ömer Bolat. Before the forum, Minister Uraloğlu met with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Communities and Regions Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting between the two delegations, the construction process of Ukraine, possible cooperation opportunities between the two countries and infrastructure projects in which Turkish companies will take an active part were discussed.

During the meeting, Minister Uraloğlu expressed his sadness about the war between Russia and Ukraine and said, “The integrity and security of Ukraine is absolutely very important to us, and our President showed a very clear will at that point. I hope peace will be established there soon. The integrity of Ukraine is ensured. And we will do better with better relations, but we strive to be at the best point under the current conditions.” he said.

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that Turkey has fulfilled its duty in terms of land transportation between Turkey and Ukraine and said, "In road transportation, we are really doing whatever we need to do there and we have completely liberalized it and extended it until the end of 2024." said. Minister Uraloğlu also touched upon the grain corridor agreement and said, “As you know, there are still 12 stranded ships in Ukraine. We could not get them out, your support will be valuable in that regard as well.” he said.

Reminding that Turkey is among the top 5 countries that supported the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) emergency meeting call due to the Russia-Ukraine war, Minister Uraloğlu said, "Referring to Ukraine's discomfort with the ships coming to Turkey from the Crimea region, Uraloğlu said, "From there Since the departing ships have turned off the automatic recognition system, we may not know exactly where they are coming from. "I want you to know that when we make the findings, we also impose sanctions such as sending them back and imposing heavy penalties," he said.

Ukrainian Minister of Communities, Regions and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov thanked Minister Uraloğlu for his hospitality and invited him to Ukraine as soon as possible.
