Bursa Commodity Exchange (Bursa TB), which protects the historical, cultural and local values ​​of Bursa, continues to protect the products identified with the city. Bursa TB's application, which had previously received a geographical indication registration for Bursa Pideli Meatballs, to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) for the world-famous Bursa Towel, was finalized. Following the examinations, "Bursa Towel" received geographical indication registration and took its place among the registered products of Bursa.

Özer Matlı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bursa Commodity Exchange, stated that he believes that Bursa Towel's geographical indication registration will make a significant contribution to the city's economy and brand values. Matlı emphasized that the Bursa Towel, which reflects the cultural richness and history of Bursa, will be protected with geographical indication registration and transferred to future generations. Pointing out that geographical indication registration supports the local economy by documenting the originality and quality of products, Mayor Matlı said, “With Bursa Towel receiving geographical indication registration, this product of ours will gain even more value and gain a privileged place in the market.
