2024 Will Be a New Beginning for the Business World

Nilüfer Çevikel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone Industrialists and Businessmen Association (DOSABSİAD), stated that 2023 was a year in which the business world struggled with difficulties and made evaluations about the expectations for 2024. President Nilüfer Çevikel stated that in many countries, including developed economies, there was a significant contraction in demand and a halt in global trade in parallel with the negative economic conjuncture and the rise in commodity prices.

Emphasizing the importance of the steps taken recently to strengthen our economy and ensure sustainable growth, Mayor Çevikel said, “With the change in economic management, the leadership of reform-oriented economic policies by experienced figures has strengthened the environment of trust for the business world. On the other hand, the launch of the Medium Term Program has contributed greatly to clarifying our economic goals for the next three years and taking strategic steps in this direction. The 2024-2026 period, in which we expect structural reforms to be implemented, is of vital importance for the economic future of our country and our business world. In this process, as DOSABSİAD, we will continue to make a determined effort to increase our production capacity and make our country more competitive in the global arena. "A strong growth with policies appropriate to internal and external economic dynamics will be the common goal of our entire business world," he said.

'OUR GOAL FOR EXPORT-ORIENTED GROWTH: GREEN TRANSFORMATION'

Stating that, as DOSAB industrialists, they will continue to strive for our country's export-oriented growth targets, President Nilüfer Çevikel also underlined that they will prioritize the green transformation issue, which is on the agenda of world trade. President Çevikel said, “Although our country takes rapid steps for green transformation, our priority trade partners are the European Union (EU) countries; We need to reduce the carbon intensity in the manufacturing processes of the products we export, especially to Europe. It should not be forgotten that being outside the criteria in the harmonization studies will have a negative impact on our exports to the country groups in question. In this context, it is very important to encourage the green transformation of the business world and for the public to provide the necessary subsidies in these processes. In this sense, acting quickly will put us in an advantageous position in the competition. "It is imperative that we work together to maximize the economic potential of our country and further improve common living standards," he said.
