The studies within the scope of "Kocaeli Building Inventory Study Protocol" with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality's TMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers Kocaeli Branch were completed with the support of Kocaeli University (KOÜ) Faculty of Civil Engineering. Within the scope of the Metropolitan Municipality's "Resilient City Kocaeli" vision, 2007 thousand 177 buildings built before 373 were examined throughout the city.

110 civil engineers, who were trained within the scope of the Kocaeli Building Inventory Study Protocol, examined the buildings built in the city before 2007, one by one. A separate inventory was prepared for each building one by one using the rapid scanning method. In line with the results of the investigations, priority areas for urban transformation will be determined.
