Trophies Find Their Owners In The Money Sailing Championship

Supporting all branches of sports, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality hosted the Para Sailing Championship. 3 disabled athletes who participated in the Para Sailing Turkey Championship qualifications held in Darıca Balyonoz Bay between 8-24 June made a strong impression by fighting both against each other and with water. Officials from the Turkish Sailing Federation also watched the races.

24 ATHLETES FIGHT

Aiming to make paralympic sailing, a new branch and a valued field, appeal to more people in Kocaeli and Turkey, the Metropolitan hosted the Para Sailing Championship in this context. 20 physically disabled athletes from different provinces of Turkey and 4 physically disabled athletes of the Metropolitan's 'I'm in Sports' project participated in the Money Sailing Turkey Championship, organized in cooperation with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Turkey Physically Disabled Sports Federation and Turkey Sailing Federation. The races, which started at Darıca Balyanoz Bay on Saturday, June 3 and ended with the final matches held on June 8, witnessed exciting moments. In the races, the best 1 male and 1 female athlete in the general ranking were selected for the National team and earned the right to represent Turkey in the World Championship.

CUP AND MEDALS FOUND THEIR OWNERS

At the award ceremony held at the end of the final competitions, trophies and medals were given to the top athletes. Accordingly, Miray Ulaş (Mersin Ferdi) came first in the Para Sailing Turkey General category, İbrahim Kalay (Mersin Sailing Yacht Sports) came in second, and Emir Turnacıgil (Karadeniz Ereğli Youth) came in third. Deniz Çiçek, Member of the Board of the Turkish Sailing Federation, presented the trophies and medals to these athletes.

BLACK SEA EREĞLİ STORM IN YOUTH

In the Para Sailing Türkiye Youth category, the athletes of Karadeniz Ereğli Youthsport made a rank. Accordingly, Darıca Municipality Social Aid Affairs Manager Hüseyin Candemir presented the cups and medals to Büşra Nur Çelik, who took the first place, Furkan Ercin, who came second, and Yiğit Efe Yıldırım, who came third.
