“Data Warehouse Konya Workshops” are organized by Konya Metropolitan Municipality in order to achieve the goals of Konya in the field of “Smart Urbanism”. Workshops consisting of 6 main titles as “Mobility”, “Environment and Energy”, “Culture and Tourism”, “Liveability”, “Urban Planning”, “Economy and Trade” will be held at Konya Metropolitan Municipality Social Innovation Agency until June 15th. to be continued.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality organizes “Data Warehouse Konya Workshops” in order to maintain the leading position of Smart City Konya in this field and to achieve its goals in the field of smart urbanism.

Making the opening speech of the workshop hosted by Konya Metropolitan Municipality Social Innovation Agency, the director of the agency, Ali Güney, said that Konya, which is known as a grain warehouse, should now be referred to as a data warehouse, and that the work continues in this context, and wished the workshop to be productive.

Marmara Municipalities Union Data and Technology Center Director Samet Keskin stated that he attaches great importance to the workshop and said that he believes that there will be very good outputs for Konya to increase the quality of urban life and ensure its sustainability, based on the data after the workshop.

Harun Yiğit, Head of the IT Department of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, stated that they are trying to create an ecosystem related to smart cities in Konya and said, “We bring together the groups involved in this ecosystem, from students to teachers, from workers to administrators, on various occasions, and to create an identifiable and sustainable continuous ecosystem here. We want to create.”

Workshops consisting of 6 main titles: “Mobility”, “Environment and Energy”, “Culture and Tourism”, “Liveability”, “Urban Planning”, “Economy and Trade” will continue until 15 June. It is planned to prepare a Data Inventory, which will determine the analyzes needed in the city in these areas, the data to be obtained for these analyzes and the institutions with potential data.

It is aimed to develop an inter-institutional data sharing culture by collaborating to share the final report of the workshops that will form the infrastructure for the creation of the “Local Data Inventory Platform”, one of the actions included in the Konya Smart City Strategy and Roadmap, with all participating stakeholders and to obtain the needed data.

Smart City concept in 2020-2023 National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan; It is defined as “more livable and sustainable cities that are implemented through collaboration between stakeholders, that use new technologies and innovative approaches, that are justified based on data and expertise, that anticipate future problems and needs, and that produce solutions that add value to life”.
