While the construction of Balıklıdere Bridge, which connects Otosansit and Değirmenönü neighborhoods, which Bursa Metropolitan Municipality started to construct in order to create an alternative route to the south of the Ankara-İzmir highway, was completed, the asphalting work on the bridge and connection road was accelerated.

The Metropolitan Municipality, which has implemented many investments such as rail systems, new roads, smart intersections and public transportation in order to produce radical solutions to the transportation problem in Bursa, gives a breath of fresh air to transportation with new bridges. The Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to create alternative routes especially to relieve the Ankara-İzmir highway from its loads, provides a new alternative route between Kaplıkaya and Kestel in the south of the road. On this route, the Metropolitan Municipality, which had previously connected the Değirmenönü and Karapınar neighborhoods with a bridge, completed the Kaplıkaya Bridge for the connection of the Siteler and Bağlaraltı neighborhoods and opened it to transportation. A new bridge with a total length of 120 meters, 2 lanes inbound and 2 lanes, was built over Balıklıdere, which is located in the easternmost part of this route and separates Otosansit and Değirmenönü districts from each other. While the construction of the bridge was completed, 3 tons of asphalt pavement work was started for the connection road at the first stage. Within the scope of the work, the production of 6 thousand meters of borders, 2 thousand square meters of parquet, pedestrian guardrails and auto guardrails continues rapidly.

Ankara Road will relax

Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that due to the fact that there is no road crossing on Balıklıdere, which is located between Cumalıkızık and Değirmenönü neighborhoods, and the land is steep, the transition between the two neighborhoods is provided via the Ankara-İzmir Highway. Noting that there are frequent traffic jams on the main road for this reason, Mayor Aktaş said, “For this reason, we connected two neighborhoods with a bridge. We have completed the construction of a 20.60 meter wide, 2-lane, 2-meter-long, 4-span bridge. After the bridges built over Hacivat and Deliçay streams before, with the completion of this bridge, an important alternative route will be formed between Kestel and Kaplıkaya. In this way, the loads on the Ankara road will also be slightly reduced. We will open the bridge to transportation in a short time with the completion of the asphalting works and other productions on the bridge and connection road.”
