The construction works of the Ünye-Akkuş-Niksar Road, which will increase Ordu's road transportation standards and connect the city to the south, started with a ceremony held in Ordu. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Director of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu attended the ceremony attended by ministers, deputies, mayors, bureaucrats and many citizens.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure invested 45 billion liras in Ordu. Underlining that only the General Directorate of Highways has 20 projects across Ordu, Karaismailoğlu said, “We are working hard on our projects, the cost of which is 20 billion TL. Only on Ordu Ring Road; 24 kilometers of our 9,5-kilometer road is tunnel. It is ongoing now, we have completed more than 70 percent of the work. Hopefully we will finish it soon. Noting that the Ordu-Akkuş-Niksar Road is 94 kilometers, Minister Karaismailoğlu said that there are great and feverish works from Niksar to Tokat, and that he completed the road, which is important in terms of connecting the Mediterranean and the Black Sea on the north-south axis, to the Black Sea as soon as possible. stated that they would.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Manager Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said that they will connect Ordu to the south with this road.

Referring to the important investments that have been made in the city before, General Manager Uraloğlu said: “We have completed the Black Sea Coastal Road between Samsun Sarp and opened it to traffic. We held the opening ceremony of this coastal road in Ordu Nefise Akçelik Tunnels between Thursday and Bolaman. At the opening we made in 2007, we opened Turkey's longest highway tunnel with 3 meters at that time. You know our current tunnel lengths better. I hope we will reach the pinnacle of this with Zigana.”

“320 thousand tons of hot bituminous mixture will be produced on the way”

Stating that our country has 18 axles in the north-south direction, Uraloğlu said that one of the important ones is the Ünye-Akkuş-Niksar Road, which they are currently working on. Uraloğlu said, “On this occasion, we are starting the work of our road, which is one of the ways that will provide an alternative connection of the whole Black Sea coast to the whole of Central Anatolia, the East, the Southeast and the Mediterranean.” he said.

Expressing that they laid the foundation of the road, Uraloğlu said, within the scope of the main work items of the project; He added that 3,5 million cubic meters of earthwork, 78 thousand cubic meters of concrete, 4.210 tons of reinforced concrete, 570 thousand tons of plantmix foundation and sub-base, 320 thousand tons of bituminous hot mix will be produced.

Access to the Black Sea Ports and coastal areas of Central Anatolia and the Mediterranean Region will become easier.

With the completion of the Ünye-Akkuş-Niksar Road, which has been implemented to increase the road transport standards of the region, uninterrupted, comfortable and safe transportation will be established on the route, and access to the Black Sea Ports and the coastal part of the Central Anatolia and Mediterranean Regions will become easy.

The Ünye-Akkuş-Niksar Road is also the shortest route connecting the Northern Line, which is the international road that travels our country in the east-west direction, and the Black Sea Coastal Road. The journey time will be reduced from 65 minutes to 50 minutes by making the road, which currently serves with a surface coating, covered with a hot bituminous mixture.

Time and fuel will be saved

With the Ünye-Akkuş-Niksar Road, a total of 59,5 million liras will be saved annually, including 25,9 million liras from time and 85,4 million liras from fuel; carbon emissions will be reduced by 3 thousand 294 tons.

With the project, which will significantly increase the agriculture, industry, trade and tourism activities of the region, it will also contribute to the development and welfare of the local people.
