prof. Dr. Haydar Demirel emphasized that walking speed should be at least 5 kilometers per hour for a healthy life at the conference “Physical Inactivity: Molecular Stones on the Road to Diabetes” given at the Near East University.

The effects of inactivity in daily life on diabetes were discussed in all details at the “Physical Inactivity: Molecular Stones of the Road to Diabetes” conference organized within the scope of the Near East University DESAM Research Institute Periodic Conferences Series. Prof. from Hacettepe University Faculty of Sports Sciences. Dr. Haydar Demirel's conference, especially Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Many academicians and students, including Tamer Şanlıdağ, followed.

Stating that there is a direct relationship between regular movement and human health, Prof. Dr. Haydar Demirel said, “In the past, people were hunting or they had to run away all the time in order not to be hunted. They had to move constantly to survive. People who lead an active life survived and passed their genes from generation to generation. So much so that Prof. Dr. Demirel said that studies have taken years for people who have been inactive in bed for a few weeks to return to their normal life course.

Inactivity causes many diseases!

Emphasizing that there are many scientific studies that reveal the importance of moving in order to stay fit in a healthy way, Prof. Dr. Demirel emphasized that people can be protected from many diseases by "staying on the move". prof. Dr. Demirel said that diabetes is one of these diseases. prof. Dr. Demirel stated that according to the World Health Organization reports, inactivity is spreading rapidly in many countries and it causes an increase in many diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis.

Your walking speed should be at least 5 kilometers per hour!

Explaining the molecular effects of physical activity on diabetes through various researches and experiments, Prof. Dr. Haydar Demirel said that the quality of movement is as important as movement for a healthy life and said, "If you want to stay healthy, you need to be able to walk at a speed of 5 kilometers per hour."

Stating that many experiments were carried out on 'pinworms' to determine the relationship between healthy life and movement speed, Prof. Dr. Demirel also gave information about the striking results of the experiments. prof. Dr. Demirel said, “In the experiments, it was seen that the pinworms that did not move died very early. When the speed of movement was observed, it was revealed that those who moved faster had a longer lifespan.
