Bursa's 'Harbiyesi' Kulturpark Open Air Theater Renovated

Bursa's 'Harbiyesi' Kültürpark Open Air Theatre, which is the center of many events that add color to the cultural and artistic life of the city, especially the International Bursa Festival, has been completely renovated by the Metropolitan Municipality.

The Open Air Theater, located in the Kültürpark, built by the late Reşat Oyal in Bursa in 1955, has been hosting many events since 1962, especially the International Bursa Festival. Kulturpark Open Air Theatre, which is among the oldest culture and art activity centers in Turkey's Republic period and has been worn out over time due to intense use, has been completely renovated by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality from its floor to its roof and seats. Within the scope of the study, the space roof, which was built 30 years ago and has not been maintained until today, was completely overhauled. All of the 3500 seats in the open air were renewed, while the walkways, stage floor, backstage and toilets were made more useful and comfortable.

Outdoor life begins

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, accompanied by Bursa Culture, Art and Tourism Foundation Secretary General Fehim Ferik, toured the completely renovated Open Air Theatre. Reminding that the Open Air Theater has a special place in the lives of Bursa residents, Mayor Aktaş said, “Who came from here, who passed. I would like to express my gratitude to those who have contributed to the construction of this place so far. In addition, I wish God's mercy on Zeki Müren, Yıldırım Gürses, Müzeyyen Senar, İlhan İrem, Barış Manço, Cem Karaca, Neşet Ertaş and many other values whose names I can't mention. This year, we will hold the 61st edition of our festival in Bursa's 'Harbiyesi'. We will bring together our famous artists with our fellow countrymen. We also carried out the restoration of this important place, which is the memory of the city, which has not been done for a long time. We will host our art-loving friends from Bursa at the Open Air Theatre, which has been renovated since May. I think it is the duty of both our art lovers and our fellow countrymen to protect and watch over this beautiful place. I hope that our Open Air Theater will serve the culture and art life of Bursa for many more years.”
