After watching the shadow play at Bursa Karagöz Museum, the brothers Masal and Destan Aykut, who decided to become 'imaginary', exhibited their first plays to their classmates. The twins from Bursa, Turkey's smallest dreams, got full marks from their classmates.

The Metropolitan Municipality Karagöz Museum, which attracts great attention throughout the year, transfers the shadow play of karagöz to new generations with the workshops held as well as the shows. Inspired by the animation of the depictions on the screen at the Karagöz Museum, where they came to watch the shadow play two years ago, the 4th grade students of Görükle Treasuredar Özkan Primary School, Masal and Destan Aykut brothers, regularly attended the Karagöz Design workshop. The little phantoms, who took lessons in the history of the karagöz shadow play, descriptive design and playing from the masters in the workshop, put on their first performances with the support of their family and friends. While the entertaining show they gave to their classmates and family at the Karagöz Museum was highly appreciated, their classmates applauded the Bursa twins for minutes.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Arif Bayrak, who shared the excitement of the little dreams at their first performance, stated that they are proud to see that the children protect their cultural values. Stating that the Metropolitan Municipality is always with the children and youth with investments, projects and activities, Bayrak said, “Bursa is shown as the starting point of the shadow play tradition. Karagöz and Hacivat have an important value for Bursa. As Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, we see our cultural and artistic values as our legacy to be left not only to the Turkish nation but to the whole world. We came together at the Karagöz Museum to watch the latest dreams of Bursa and Turkey. Masal and Destan gave a really good performance, I congratulate them. We are very proud that our children have taken such good steps to protect our cultural values and carry them to the future.”

Seçkin Güneş, Secretary General of the International Puppet and Shadow Play Union (UNIMA) Turkey, said, “The Karagöz Museum has made a great contribution to our children's love of Karagöz play. Fairy Tale and Destan became Turkey's latest dreams. Here the children loved the play, learned how to make images, and even wrote their own plays. They gave their first performances to their friends here today, congratulations to them," he said.

Turkey's youngest dreams, Fairy Tale-Destan Aykut brothers, expressed their excitement for their first performance. Stating that she was happy to have her classmates with her in their first performance, Masal Aykut said, “Before we came here, we did not know about the Karagöz shadow play. We came, watched the play, learned the descriptions, and loved it even more. We participated in workshops, our masters gave us training. Museum officials also trusted us and helped us put on a show," he said. Destan Aykut said, “We were very excited at the beginning of the show, then we acted as if we were rehearsing. I would like to thank our masters who gave us training and our friends who are with us today.”

At the end of the show, the twins from Bursa received their first depictions from the Secretary General of UNIMA Turkey Seçkin Güneş, while the classroom teacher Nuriye Sever gave various gifts to the little dreams on behalf of her school and classmates.
