Obsession is a four-part erotic thriller series on Netflix by writers Morgan Lloyd Malcolm and Benji Walters. It is based on Josephine Hart's 1991 novel Damage, which was previously adapted into a film and an opera.
William Farrow (Richard Armitage) is a successful married surgeon with two children, an adult son named Jay (Rish Shah) and a younger daughter named Sally (Sonera Angel). His wife Ingrid (Indira Varma) is a beautiful, ambitious woman and apparently the perfect wife for William.
But as his son's fiancee pursues his relationship with Anna Barton (Charlie Murphy), a psychologically damaged woman coping with the unresolved trauma of her youth, it soon becomes clear that something is deeply wrong with him.

Will there be an Obsession season 2 on Netflix?
Obsession is unlikely to return for a second season. The series is billed as a limited series and with just four episodes, it looks like it's intended to stay that way.
Given the nature of the series and the fact that it is based on a book, he does not consider it necessary to continue this particular story. The ending hints at what will be the future of the characters, especially the last one we saw of Anna Barton (ADVERTISEMENT OF SOMETHING!) in therapy.
The obsession with what will happen to William's progress is less clear, especially now that he's estranged from his family. The ending is deliberate in its ambiguity, and the true story unravels, making it unnecessary to continue the series with additional seasons.
The only way forward would be for Netflix to create an anthology series. Each season can take a different form of "obsession" and create an interesting concept. That said, it still seems highly unlikely, and the episodes we have are probably all we'll get for this particular show.
