The President who came to the stage after the singing of the anthem Tunç SoyerHe congratulated Fazil Say and the entire orchestra. President Soyer said, “How lucky we are, İzmir. We are very lucky and very proud. This anthem is actually the herald of the second century. We are entering the second century of the Republic with such great news. None of us deserve today's Turkey. And a much better Türkiye is possible. Fazil is an extraordinary person. I always say, we need reason, conscience and courage as we enter the second century. And on top of that, he has an extraordinary talent. That's why this anthem was born. On behalf of all Izmir, I would like to express my gratitude. You gave us one of the best gifts of our lives. For decades, we have grown and lived by singing the 10th Anniversary Anthem of the republic. Now the 100th Anniversary Anthem has arrived. From now on, we will sing the 100th Anniversary Anthem all over Turkey.”

"Give me your hand we have to say"

Telling the story of the historical anthem, Fazıl Say said, “Thank you very much for your intense interest. This is Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center. This is the most beautiful salon in Turkey. This place has been turned into a world class hall with tremendous care and energy. To me Tunç Soyer When I came with this offer, I was very emotional. I said, 'You are asking me for something so important that if I do something that makes me feel good, then I will appear before you.' Because the centenary of the Republic of Türkiye is very important to me. The second century is also very valuable. I set some criteria for myself about the 100th Anniversary Anthem. I think the poet of the 100th Anniversary March should have been a woman. Because I want it to symbolize gender equality. Our orchestra here consists of men and women. It is very important which ideology the poem I choose will represent. Our poet Ayten Mutlu says 'to many many more centuries'. This not only celebrates the centennial, but also embraces the next centuries. 'The blue lightning of the sky is in my Father's eyes,' he says. Atatürk is in our hearts, he is the founder of the Turkish Republic and he represents everything. We thought that the representation of our ancestor's eyes as lightning would represent everything. The words 'Give me your hand' were at the end of the poem. I put it at the beginning of the poem with his permission. There is a reason for this. We have to say give your hand both to the world and to all marginalization within our own society.”

Ayten Mutlu's verses are immortalized

While Ayten Mutlu wrote the poem "Give Your Hand" to the anthem, Fazıl Say composed the song, Can Okan conducted the orchestra, and İlhan Akyunak conducted the choir. Ahmed Adnan Saygun Symphony Orchestra and Choir and Young Choir (Işılay Saygın Fine Arts High School Choir) performed the anthem. The lyrics of the anthem included striking phrases such as "Give me, give me your hand", "The blue lightning of the sky is in my father's eyes", "Many more 100th Anniversary", which will look to the future with hope.

While the Great Hall of AASSM was completely filled, LED screens were installed in the garden and the enthusiasm in the hall spilled out.
