Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum shared a video from his official social media account by making observations in Atatürk Airport National Garden, which is the 5th city park in the world and the largest city park in Turkey, which is under construction in Istanbul. Stating that there is little time left for the opening of the first stage of Atatürk Airport National Garden, Minister Kurum said, “We are counting the days for the biggest city park of our country. We will open the first phase of Atatürk Airport Nation's Garden, which will be the breath of our Istanbul, with our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. “A disaster assembly area was created in Atatürk Airport National Garden”

According to the statement made by the Ministry, Atatürk Airport Nation's Garden will be a large city park, built on an area of ​​2 million square meters, with green areas, closed areas of close to 70 thousand square meters and social facilities. Disaster assembly areas were also created in Atatürk Airport National Garden. In the event of a disaster, it will have a capacity of 165 thousand tents that can accommodate approximately 40 thousand people.

“Citizens will be able to grow natural products in the natural life village established in Atatürk Airport National Garden”

Atatürk Airport National Garden can be entered from 9 different points. There will be greenhouses and orchards at these entrances. Natural products can be grown in these greenhouses. Citizens will be able to obtain natural products from here if they wish. There will be an artificial stream called Ab-ı Hayat Suyu, approximately 2 and a half kilometers long in the south-north direction. In addition, viewing terraces, picnic areas and resting areas will be created along the riverside.

Since Atatürk Airport National Garden has a length of 2 and a half kilometers in the south-north direction, there will be bicycle and walking paths in this area. There will be playgrounds in the Nation's Garden, tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, skate-boarding tracks, exhibition halls in social facilities, a soup kitchen, libraries, and nation's cafes. Again, viewing terraces, promenade areas, social areas where people can relax will be created.

In the statement made by the Ministry, it was also informed that the infrastructure works at Atatürk Airport Nation's Garden were completed and the green areas and tree planting activities continued.
