Ankara Metropolitan Municipality was deemed worthy of an award in the local governments category of the 2023 'Inspiring Public Administration Awards' organized by the Turkish Quality Association (KalDer) with its 'Women Empowerment Center and Purple Map' applications.

At the ceremony held in the conference hall of the Information Technologies and Communications Authority, the award was given to the Head of Women and Family Services Department, Dr. Serkan Yorgancılar and Head of Strategy Development Department Melek Gündeden Çınar.

“WE SET LIKE MANY MUNICIPALITIES ON INTERNATIONAL PLATFORMS”

Stating that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its journey of excellence, Strategy Development Department Head Melek Günden Çınar said, “The award we received today is actually a first and pioneering project in terms of the process. Because within the scope of this project, women can get all the needs they need from one center. With this, we have set an example for many municipalities not only in Turkey but also in international platforms. I would like to thank all my friends who have taken responsibility in these projects, and I present this award to women whose stories were left unfinished in the disaster this year.”

Stating that they are very happy with the award received by the Purple Map and Women's Empowerment Center applications supported by the Dutch Embassy and the United Nations Women's Unit (UN WOMEN), Head of Women and Family Services Department Dr. Serkan Yorgancılar used the following statements:

“First of all, we are very happy to receive this award. In the Inspiring Public Administration Awards project organized by KalDer, our Women's Empowerment Center and Purple Map were awarded and we were the 1st in their field. We are also happy that the services we provide to the women of the Capital city of Ankara are appreciated.”
