Chinese President Xi Jinping said that he invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to China to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
During his meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Xi said that the invitation was made during his informal meeting with Putin.
Xi pointed out that Putin had attended two previous Belt and Road forums, and that Belt and Road cooperation is of great importance for strengthening ties between the two countries.
Reminding that China and Russia are each other's biggest neighbors and comprehensive strategic cooperation partners, Xi noted that such a relationship has passed the test of profound changes in the world.
Xi also invited Mishustin to China, urging the continuation of regular meetings between the prime ministers of China and Russia.
