Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer made the following statements regarding the new teacher appointment calendar: “Pre-application and oral exam center preferences of our teacher candidates will be taken between 27 March-1 April. The exam centers where the candidates will take the oral exam will be announced on April 4th. Oral exams will be held between 7-16 April and the results will be announced on 18 April. We will receive the appointment preferences of teacher candidates between 2-6 May, and we will announce the appointment results on 8 May. Our teachers will start their duties in their schools as of September 1st. I wish the process to be beneficial to all our teacher candidates who will join our education family.”
Minister Özer also announced the quota distribution on the basis of branches regarding the assignment of 45 thousand teachers.
Pointing out that appointments will be made from 103 fields that form the basis for appointment for teaching, Özer shared the following information regarding the five fields that will be assigned the most in this context: “For 45 thousand teachers, 7 thousand 878 quotas for classroom teaching, 3 thousand 604 for guidance field, 3 thousand for pre-school teaching. 269 quotas were allocated for primary school mathematics, 2 thousand 656 quotas, and 2 thousand 604 quotas for religious culture and ethics.”
Özer stated that 50 base points are taken as the basis for the application to the areas to be assigned.
