Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that 349 containers were placed in the first phase of Konya Kenteyner City, which is under construction in Hatay. Mayor Altay stated that together with the chambers and district municipalities in Konya, they will create two cities with 1000 containers, and said that the first phase, which will consist of 487 containers, is under intense work in a short time.
Container city works to be established by Konya Metropolitan Municipality in two different regions in Hatay, together with the chambers and district municipalities in Konya, continue at full speed.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that since the first day of the devastating earthquakes that swept the whole country on February 6, they have mobilized all means in Hatay to heal the wounds of earthquake victims, and that the work on the first phase of the container cities, which will consist of a total of 1.000 containers, is coming to an end.
The water and sewerage infrastructure in the first stage container city has been completed; Stating that the landscaping and pavement works continue, Mayor Altay said, “We have reached an important stage in the works we carry out in order to meet all kinds of humanitarian needs such as infrastructure, logistics, water works, mobile kitchens, communication and energy supply in the earthquake region. We will place a total of 487 containers in the first phase of the container cities that we continue to install together with our Konya Chamber of Commerce, Industry Chamber, Commodity Exchange and Karatay, Meram and Selçuklu Municipalities. We have already placed 349 of these containers. The remaining 138 containers will be completed as soon as possible and our earthquake-stricken brothers will be placed here,” he said.
Emphasizing that the work continues for the second stage container city in its sister city, Hatay, Mayor Altay stated that the KOSKİ teams have completed the infrastructure works to a large extent here.
