In his written statement, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that Çanakkale has taken the place of Çanakkale in the glorious Turkish history and noted that Çanakkale is an important transit point in terms of connecting the Asian and European continents to each other and the Black Sea and Marmara Sea to the world.

Karaismailoğlu said, “Within the scope of highway investments that will raise the transportation standard of Çanakkale; The Gallipoli Eceabat State Highway, which provides access to the historical peninsula on the European side, was designed in the standard of a divided road with bitumen hot mix coating. We will put 32 kilometers of the project into the service of our citizens with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan tomorrow. In the completed section, there are 2 tunnels with a total length of 560 meters, including the T-1 Tunnel of 644 meters, the T-1A Tunnel of 1355 meters, the T-2 Tunnel of 792 meters and the T-3 Tunnel of 5 meters, which were built with a single tube. .

Emphasizing that with the project, the road, which had previously served as a single road, was upgraded to a divided road standard and that the Havsa - Uzunköprü - Keşan - Gelibolu - Eceabat - Çanakkale corridor was aimed to be completed, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu continued his statement as follows:

“We will quickly go to the Gallipoli-Eceabat Road and the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and to the Gallipoli Historical Site of the Gallipoli Campaign, which is important for the promotion of our country and national identity to the world public, which has many martyrdoms, monuments, inscriptions and trenches, each of which reflects a different example of heroism. , secure and comfortable connection is provided. With the tunnels built within the scope of the project, natural, historical and archaeological sites and the texture of the region were preserved. With the project, the current route was shortened by 900 meters, while the travel time decreased from 45 minutes to 25 minutes. With the Gallipoli-Eceabat Road, a total of 126 million TL will be saved annually, 35 million TL from time and 161 million TL from fuel oil. Carbon emissions will be reduced by 4 thousand 432 tons.”
