Denizli Metropolitan Municipality 3rd International Cartoon Contest results have been announced. The 33st winner of the competition, in which 348 artists from 682 countries participated with 1 works, was chosen from China, and the 2nd and 3rd from Ukraine. The award ceremony and exhibition of the competition organized with the theme of “Healthy Life and Sports” will be held on 5 May.
33 works of 348 artists from 682 countries competed
The results of the 3rd International Cartoon Contest organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality this year have been announced. This year, 33 amateur and professional artists from 348 countries participated in the competition, the theme of which was "Healthy Life and Sports", with 682 works. The jury members gathered at the historical Merzeci House, where Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Young Denizli is located, last weekend and evaluated the works. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Serhat Akbulut, Head of Culture and Social Affairs Department Hüdaverdi Otaklı, Culture and Art Branch Manager Arif Duru, Tourism and Promotion Branch Manager Samet Başer, cartoonist Şevket Yalaz, Savaş Ünlü, Mehmet Selçuk, Abdülkadir Uslu, Altan Özeskici, The jury consisting of Ali Şur and Kübra Deligöz examined the works one by one and determined the winners.
Award ceremony and exhibition on 5 May
In the over 18 category of the competition, Liu Qiang's work from China won the first place, Oleksiy Kustovsky's work from Ukraine came second, and Vladimir Kazanevsky's work from Ukraine came third. Nuhsal Işıl and Musa Gümüş from Istanbul and Cemalettin Güzeloğlu from Izmir received the honorable mention awards, respectively. Furkan Aytur and Zeliha Nur Maviş from Sinop and Ceylan Figen from İzmir were entitled to receive the honorable mentions under the age of 3, respectively. It has been noted that the award ceremony and exhibition of the competition will be held on Friday, May 18, 5, at Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Turan Bahadır Exhibition Hall. On the other hand, famous cartoonists, who are members of the jury, came together with cartoonists from Denizli and had an interview. The cartoonists, who told sections from their business and artistic lives, also gave portrait drawing training to young people.

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan said that there was a great interest in the International Cartoon Contest, which they organized for the third time. Noting that 33 participants from 348 countries together with Turkey sent works to the contest, Mayor Zolan said, “Each of our contestants drew attention to the theme of healthy life and sports with their beautiful works and created awareness with the works they prepared on this subject. I would like to thank all the participants who sent their works to our competition and congratulate the artists who won the prize. Hopefully, we will present the works on May 5," he said.
