The Ministry of Industry and Technology announced that while industrialists turned to hygiene and cleaning materials in aid efforts for the earthquake region, the production of mobile toilets and bathrooms has accelerated throughout Turkey.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, Turkey, which has experienced two major earthquakes one after the other, in a way that is rarely seen in the history of the world earthquake, became one heart in the aid efforts for the earthquake region. Industrialists also turned to hygiene and cleaning materials in the aid corridor they created for the cities hit by the earthquake. In addition, the production of mobile toilets and bathrooms has accelerated throughout Turkey.
“Crisis center coordinates”
The crisis center, which started its operations in the Ministry of Industry and Technology right after the earthquake, coordinates the aid for the earthquake area on a 7/24 basis. Aid from Organized Industry Supreme Organization (OSBÜK), organized industrial zones administrations, industrialists and small and medium-sized enterprises are brought together with those in need through AFAD and Turkish Red Crescent.
“Hygiene and cleaning material”
The crisis center, which contacts hygiene and cleaning material manufacturers according to priorities, sends materials from industrial establishments all over Turkey to the region. In addition, industrialists with the potential to produce these products are directed to this area. Among the hygiene and cleaning materials sent to the region, there are products such as disinfectant, cologne, liquid soap, bleach, dishwashing detergent, sanitary pads and wet wipes.
“Hygiene materials were shipped from İvedik OSB with trucks”
Companies producing industrial cleaning products in Ankara İvedik OSB also worked to meet the hygiene needs of the earthquake region. Nearly 15 trucks of hygiene materials were sent to the region from this OIZ alone. Necati Kandil, one of the manufacturers, stated that they meet the demands for products such as detergent liquid hand soaps and emphasized the importance of the hygiene problem of the region. Ivedik OIZ Chairman of the Board Hasan Gültekin stated that 15 trucks consisting of various basic needs and hygiene materials were delivered to the region and said that they did their best to meet the demands to heal the wounds of the region with the cooperation of the state-industry.
“Mobile toilets and bathrooms”
In the region where harsh winter conditions are experienced, mobile toilets and bathrooms are at the top of the list of needs as an important aid item. Portable toilets and bathrooms are also delivered to the region under the coordination of the crisis center. Manufacturer SMEs across Turkey are accelerating their prefabricated toilet and bathroom manufacturing through KOSGEB. Office-type containers with kitchens and toilets are also loaded on trucks and installed in suitable locations. Nuriş Prefabrik Yapı Chairman of the Board of Directors, Orhan Turan, who produces containers in Başkent OSB, also stated that they work for AFAD to the region and that they send 50 living containers a day, and that they offer multiple and single portable toilets and bathrooms to the earthquake victims after the production processes.
