Relief materials were delivered by military helicopters to the earthquake victims in the mountainous villages of Gaziantep's Nurdağı and İslahiye districts, which were affected by the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.

Aid materials organized by AFAD within the scope of earthquake studies in Gaziantep, coordinated by Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum, were delivered to the villages in the mountainous areas by military helicopters.

The assistance under the follow-up and coordination of Gaziantep Provincial Gendarmerie Command was gathered at the 5th Armored Brigade Command and its soldiers were transported to military helicopters by personnel. Then, 5 helicopters took off and landed in 17 mountain villages of İslahiye and Nurdağı districts in 15 sorties. Relief materials consisting of 7,2 tons of drinking water and food parcels, 87 tents, 2 thousand 400 diapers and 700 blankets were distributed to the earthquake victims by military personnel.

Gaziantep Provincial Gendarmerie Command personnel opened the roads of Köklü, İdilli and Koçcagiz villages in the mountainous areas of İslahiye and Nurdağı districts, which were damaged due to the earthquake.

Meanwhile, the gendarmerie teams delivered coordinated aid materials to 128 neighborhoods and villages with unimog vehicles obtained from the İslahiye Artillery Regiment Command.

Mehmetçik participated in search and rescue efforts with 447 vehicles and 4 military personnel in disaster areas in the Gaziantep gendarmerie region, and also set up 210 tents and 1.090 containers.
