Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyerexamined the demolition works initiated for the fifth stage in the Ornekkoy Urban Transformation Area. Minister Tunç Soyer, stating that they are working to make İzmir a resilient city, said, “The importance of urban transformation has increased even more these days when we are faced with the earthquake disaster. While the earthquake pain is within us, we will continue to work on preparing this city for the future.”

Speaking during his field trip, President Soyer said, “I remember the day we laid the foundation here. I must say that the fact that the buildings have risen so high since then is very valuable. Our friends are working hard. On the other hand, the process of demolition of the places, whose deed was transferred, continues. Today, demolition work is being carried out on those last remaining areas,” he said.
Stating that the importance of urban transformation has increased even more in these days when we are faced with the earthquake disaster, Mayor Soyer said, “We will continue our work quickly. I congratulate each and every one of my friends who work with great devotion both to make the city more resistant to earthquakes and to make people live in safer, peaceful and healthy buildings. While the disaster and pain of the earthquake are within us, we will continue to work on preparing this city for the future.”

There will be 3 residences and 520 workplaces.

When the project, which continues in stages in the Örnekköy Urban Transformation Area, where approximately 6 thousand people live, is completed, a total of 3 residences and 520 workplaces will be built. In the area, a new two-storey market area of ​​​​338 thousand 4 square meters, approximately 200 thousand square meters of open and closed parking area, 30 thousand 3 square meters of indoor sports facilities and social areas will be built. 500 thousand square meters of green space and 68 thousand square meters of social reinforcement area will also be added.

In the second, third and fourth phases, construction works are continuing for 134 residences and 74 workplaces. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality delivered 130 residences and 13 workplaces to their beneficiaries in the first phase. The drawing of lots for the fifth phase, which includes approximately 600 residences and workplaces, was held on June 8, and comfortable residences where citizens would live safely were determined in the presence of a notary public.
