Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) continues to provide vital services such as search and rescue, assistance, cleaning and accommodation in many cities, under the coordination of AFAD, after the major earthquake affecting 10 provinces centered in Kahramanmaraş. 2 ferries that will provide accommodation and evacuation services for the disaster victims in Hatay Iskenderun have reached Iskenderun.

The Orhangazi ferry, which will provide accommodation for the disaster victims in Hatay, started to host its guests in Iskenderun. The Osmangazi ship is also preparing to go on its maiden voyage to evacuate people who want to go to Mersin, Antalya, Izmir and Istanbul.

The Orhangazi ship, designed as a living and rehabilitation area, has a kitchen that can serve 3 people for 1.200 meals, showers and toilets, infirmary and psychological counseling rooms, and a tanker of fuel. 1200 people began to be hosted on the ship, which was equipped to meet all kinds of needs.

Many services, from kindergarten to health and psychological counseling services, are provided on the ship, where many fine details are considered. In the ferry where surgeons, pediatricians, internal medicine and psychiatry specialists and psychologists are present, playgrounds were also created for children affected by the disaster. On the ship, a total of 109 personnel including the crew, health personnel, psychologist, driver, kitchen personnel, security personnel and kindergarten teacher started to support the disaster victims.

555 people were rescued from the rubble

IMM Fire Brigade Search and Rescue Group has pulled a total of 496 people out of the wreckage alive so far. Search and rescue teams from İBB Subsidiaries working in the region also rescued 34 people and İSKİ Teams rescued 25 people alive from the rubble. The total number of citizens rescued alive by İBB Group teams was 555. In addition, our personnel who went to the region as AFAD volunteers supported the rescue of 95 people alive by taking part in various search and rescue teams.

IMM WITH ALL ITS OPPORTUNITIES MOVEMENT FOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

IMM; With its 2.452 personnel, 1.156 construction equipment and service vehicles, it continues to work in many areas from search and rescue to cleaning, tents and assistance services in the earthquake zone. IMM's 514 personnel work in the region voluntarily in the region under the coordination of AFAD.

Within the scope of the aid campaign initiated by the IMM, the work continues on a 24-hour basis in the aid centers established in Yenikapı and Kartal. To date, 21.317 individuals and institutions have contributed to the aid campaign by donating.

Many products such as food, beverages and clothing were sent to the earthquake area with 319 trucks and 4 million 841 thousand 627 items. Hamidiye Su and Halk Ekmek's Mediterranean type nutritious bread were also sent to the provinces affected by the earthquake and the number of aid trucks reached 371. A food truck with a capacity of 6.000 people and a daily mobile bakery of 15.000 serve in Antakya. In line with the needs, the kitchen installation in the region is evaluated in coordination with the district teams.

Other logistics supports provided to the region are as follows: 140 cabin mobile toilets, 42 mobile showers, 5 mobile WCs in total, 26 containers, 14 mobile charging stations, installation of 7 self-powered lighting poles, 3 mobile 12 fixed satellite IMM wifi and broadcasting service at 15 points in total. , IT and telecommunication team of 11 people, city cleaning team of 52 people and 13 İSTAÇ cleaning vehicles, 7 veterinarians, 107 police personnel and 15 service vehicles, security support to search and rescue personnel, inspecting the water and sewerage infrastructure of the region, performing damage assessment studies. and İSKİ team of 7 people to determine repair needs.

TENT CITIES ARE CREATED

IMM; The tent areas he set up in Antakya, İskenderun and Samandağ provide a warm and safe shelter for earthquake victims. 21 large tents were set up in Iskenderun, 15 in Samandag and 64 in Antakya. A tent city with 110 tents was also created at the Samandağ Sea Stadium. 440 tents with a capacity of 10 were delivered to AFAD to be used in the Field Hospital to be established in the region. A purchase was made that would quickly increase the total tent capacity to 1.000 units.

EVERY HELP IS REACHED

IMM, IMM aid trucks have reached Kırıkhan and Samandag. Food, water, milk, clothing and shelter aids were distributed in Arsuz Akçalı Village. In Kırıkhan, the supplies he wanted were delivered to Ali İsmail Korkmaz's mother, Emel Anne. Emel Anne distributed aid to those in need in her neighborhood. A truck was distributed to the İskenderun Nuri Uysen Secondary School and 3 trucks were distributed to the İskenderun Catholic Church.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT WORKS ARE SUPPORTED

For damage assessment purposes; 312 aid vehicles and 40 containers were sent to the earthquake area. 35 engineers / technicians landed in Maraş by plane, and they are working in Gaziantep in damage assessment studies with AFAD guidance. Vehicles with 15 drivers take part in damage assessment studies in Gaziantep under the coordination of AFAD.

MUNICIPALITIES WITH CHP ARE ALSO IN THE FIELD

CHP municipalities continue their work in the region with 1009 search and rescue and support personnel, 226 vehicles and construction equipment, and 76 soup kitchens with a capacity of 500 thousand 18 people. CHP municipalities sent 663 aid trucks to the earthquake area.
