Local seeds produced at the Local Seed Center with the slogan of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality "A handful of seeds is a lifetime of independence" will meet citizens in rural districts as well as in the city center between February 27 and March 25.
Continuing to support producers in agriculture and animal husbandry, the Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to disseminate domestic seeds.
Ancestral seeds produced at the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Local Seed Production Center and sent to the seed exchange festivals held in various cities of Turkey will also meet the citizens of 12 districts outside the city center.
Local seed distributions to be carried out by the teams of the Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens Department will start on February 27 and will be completed on March 25.
Expressing that they will start to germinate seeds with the arrival of spring, President Büyükerşen said, “The bank of the seed is soil. We will continue to approach the issue of domestic seeds with sensitivity in order to prevent our country's dependence on foreign agriculture. With our expert staff, we want to obtain the most productive seeds for our people, to reproduce them and to increase production with local seeds by distributing them to all our people, especially our producers. We believe that production will increase with local seeds on the occasion of these exchange days. I am waiting for all my fellow countrymen who produce or want to produce with domestic seeds to our distribution points between 27 February-25 March.” said.
As part of the Seed Exchange Days, in Seyitgazi on February 27, Beylikova on February 28, Mahmudiye on March 2, Sarıcakaya on March 3, Alpu on March 4, Günyüzü on March 6 in Sivrihisar on March 8, in Mihalgazi on March 9, in Çifteler on March 10, in Mihalıççık on March 11, in Han on March 16, and in district bazaars in İnönü district on March 23. seeds will be distributed.
In the city center, seed exchange events will be held at Producer Markets on 14-18-21 and 25 March, and seeds will meet with citizens.
