Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyerthanked those who contributed to the “One Rent One Home” campaign, which was launched for families in need of shelter after the earthquake disaster. Reminding that hundreds of personnel and volunteers were on duty for the special broadcast on Halk TV on the evening of February 22, President Soyer told the call center employees he visited, “Here are my heroes. Everything will be much more beautiful. Good luck to you. Good thing a team like you stands behind me. I am proud to work with you. There was incredible solidarity that night. Stating that they will work even harder so that not a single penny of the collected 330 million lira aid is wasted, President Soyer said, “We must not put dust on İzmir. I trust you completely. Everyone trusted only the words that came out of our mouths. You made the night morning without sleeping. Thank you so much for standing behind me like a mountain. Good luck to you," he said.
33 thousand 98 families became a home
The “One Rent One Home” campaign launched by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with the Needs Map in order to find a solution to the housing problem after the earthquake disasters that caused great destruction in 11 provinces grew with solidarity. Important figures from Turkey and abroad supported the One Rent One Home Campaign. During the night, 33 million lira of aid was collected for 98 thousand 330 families. With the donations received the next day, this figure exceeded 350 million liras.
