Iller Bank, affiliated to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, repaired 11 percent of the drinking water infrastructure in 98 provinces, excluding heavily damaged areas, after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, providing access to drinking water for the citizens of the region. As a result of the damage assessment studies carried out in all of the existing drinking water facilities of 172 local governments, a total of 79 malfunctions in 800 local government warehouses, pumping centers, transmission lines and all art structures were fixed.

Iller Bank (ILBANK), affiliated to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, continues its efforts to determine the damage of the buildings and to ensure access to drinking water in the region with its 500 personnel, 750 of whom are experts, right after the earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş, which is described as the "disaster of the century".

Iller Bank teams are working with 11 local governments in 172 provinces affected by the earthquake in mobilization with municipalities on the point of access to drinking water, which is one of the biggest needs for earthquake victims' lives to return to normal.

Iller Bank, in order for cities to have drinking water as soon as possible; With 500 expert personnel, 142 vehicles and equipment, their work in the fields of water transmission lines, pumping stations, treatment plants, infrastructure related to network damage assessment and maintenance has come to an end.

In the statement, it was stated that as a result of the damage assessment studies carried out in all of the existing drinking water facilities of 172 local governments, a total of 79 faults in 800 local government warehouses, pumping centers, transmission lines and all art structures were eliminated. It has been announced that 11 percent of the drinking water infrastructure has been repaired in 98 provinces damaged by the earthquake, excluding heavily damaged areas, and that the remaining works will be completed as 100 percent after AFAD's search and rescue activities.

According to the statement made by Iller Bank, it was reported that the malfunctions that occurred in the drinking water facilities of Gaziantep central Şehitkamil and Şahinbey districts after the earthquake were resolved by the ILBANK and GASKİ teams within 24 hours, and drinking water was supplied to the entire city. It was stated that the malfunctions in the drinking water facilities in the districts of Nurdağı and İslahiye, which were heavily damaged by the earthquake in Gaziantep, were fixed and drinking water was supplied to all areas and villages where there was life. In addition, it was stated that the drinking water and waste water connections of the tent city and container installation areas have been completed.

“Faults in drinking water facilities in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman were fixed”

It was stated that the faults in the transmission line in the Gölbaşı district of Adıyaman are being fixed, and that drinking water will continue to be supplied partially. It was stated that it is planned to provide drinking water to the entire Gölbaşı district today. It has been reported that drinking water malfunctions have been fixed in Antakya and Defne districts of Hatay and Elbistan district of Kahramanmaraş and drinking water has been supplied to all living areas.
