Barış Atay, full name Barış Atay Mengüllüoğlu (born September 22, 1981, Wilhelmshaven), is a Turkish actor and politician. He has been serving as a TIP deputy since 2018.
Born in Germany in 1981, Mengüllüoğlu lived in Antakya, Mengüllü until 1999. He started his undergraduate education at Çukurova University, Department of Biology, but dropped out in the last year of his education due to his passion for theater and his talent. He went to Istanbul and passed the Yeditepe University Theater Department exams and graduated from the theater department of this university. In 2011, he started his master's degree in Cinema-TV at Kadir Has University.
Barış Atay Mengüllüoğlu previously played in the TV series Hacı ve Şöhret. He also acted in the films Kavuk and Zincirbozan. He drew attention with the character Saffet he played in the TV series Back Row.
He became a parliamentary candidate from the Peoples' Democratic Party for the 2018 Turkish general elections. He was elected as Hatay deputy according to the election results of June 24, 2018. He joined the Workers Party of Turkey on October 11, 2018.
