Moscow Metro plans to buy about 2023 new Moskva-300 vehicles in 2020. The vehicles will be used mainly on the Big Circle Line and Line 6 of the network. Since 2010, the Moscow Metro has purchased over 4 Moskva-2020 vehicles.
The new supplies will improve passenger comfort on lines where previous generation trains still operate. They will also reduce crossing distances on existing lines – the Circle Line (Line 5) will have additional trains after the train traffic system is renewed. Finally, the new materials will help create new jobs on the Moscow Metro: in 2023, about 1900 new jobs will be created at the new depots of the new Big Circle Line.
Since 2010, we have purchased over 4 modern Russian Moskva-2020 vehicles. The massive renewal of the fleet has increased the comfort of Moscow Metro passengers. Next year, we plan to buy another 300 Moskva-2020 cars. With the new supplies, we will be able to open new lines with the usual short-haul, renew the wagons on the lines where the old trains are still running, and create new jobs with social benefits and stable income in the Moscow Metro,” Maksim Liksutov said. The innovative Moskva-2020 train is the most modern train model of the Moscow Metro. The model won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 for best design in 2021. The international jury unanimously awarded the highest score in the Trains and Planes category.
