Works on the İzTransformation project, initiated by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality company İzDoğa, are continuing rapidly. Within the scope of the project, İzDoğa invested in a vehicle fleet consisting of 10 waste collection trucks and 10 electric motorcycles. A total of 12 waste collection trucks and 22 motorcycles, together with the vehicles that were put into service before, serve within the scope of IzTransformation.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, who continues his works with the aim of building an Izmir in harmony with nature Tunç Soyer “The vehicles purchased to facilitate the collection of waste were first distributed in the waste collection box. KarşıyakaHe started his career in Karabağlar, Buca, Narlıdere and Bornova. We aim to expand the IzTransformation project throughout Izmir by increasing the number of waste collection boxes and vehicles in a short time.”

Waste collection vehicles started to serve

Within the scope of the IzTransformation project, 13 new trucks with a capacity of 10 cubic meters with hydraulic compression, as well as 10 electric motorcycles were purchased to facilitate and accelerate the collection of packaging waste.

Packaging wastes are collected from many different areas such as residences, public institutions, hospitals and markets with İzTransformation waste collection vehicles. With large volume hydraulic compaction trucks, the number of trips is reduced and more packaging waste is saved from going to waste.
Electric motorcycles, on the other hand, provide access to narrow streets where trucks with hydraulic compression cannot enter, and waste collection is done quickly from the houses. With electric motorcycles that can travel up to 50 kilometers on a single charge, packaging waste is collected at the zero point and sent for recycling.

Waste is recycled

The wastes collected from the source by İzTransformation teams from different districts of İzmir are transferred to the packaging waste sorting facility in Konak, which was purchased for the project. The separated wastes will be included in the recycling ring.

With the project, which aims to collect and separate packaging waste from the source, it is aimed to expand the circular economy of İzmir.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality company İzDoğa generated approximately 2022 thousand TL revenue from the paper waste sale made by the auction method from the İzTransformation facility in November-December 800.
