Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that Turkey is the third largest solar panel producer in the world in terms of solar energy panel facility, and said, “Our target is; Becoming second in the world from next year.” said.

Minister Varank attended the opening of the annex building of a factory producing solar energy panels in Kırıkkale Organized Industrial Zone. Varank said that they saw and visited the investments made in the city on site.

Stating that the solar energy panel facility that was opened is important, Varank said, “We are a company that has implemented a strategic investment in Turkey years ago. I really find it very important that he takes his target and invests in this business in Kırıkkale. The facility, which we have opened today, will produce 750 megawatt solar panels in the first place. With the completion of the factory, a capacity of 1,5 gigawatts will be created.” he said.

Explaining that the other part of the factory has a production of about 500 megawatts, Varank said:

“Turkey is currently the third largest solar panel producer in the world. We produce about 8 gigawatts of solar panels. Hopefully, our goal is to be the second in the world from next year. I recently went to Germany. I gave a speech at the wind energy congress. I told about Turkey's capabilities. Make sure the guests who come there. They listened to us with their mouths slightly open. They do not know the potential of Turkey in wind and sun. We invest, employment, production, export… With this motto, we strive to develop Turkey. Here, too, our biggest supporters are of course the private sector and our entrepreneurs.”

Emphasizing that investments in Turkey continue to increase, Varank noted that they will cut the ribbon of a high-tech facility in Kırıkkale and that ROKETSAN and MKE will make a big investment in Kırıkkale.

Varank explained that Turkey will be developed with such investments and thanked those who contributed to the opening of the SPP facility.

Varank, who toured the factory after the ribbon cutting, received information from the authorities about the operation of the machines in the facility.
