EGİAD and GAGİAD Became Sister Association

During the visit hosted by GAGİAD Gaziantep Young Businessmen Association President Cihan Koçer, two NGO members came together for the first time. At the meeting held at the GAGİAD Association Center, an important protocol was signed by establishing cooperation for the establishment of a sister association relationship under the coordination of the board of directors, based on the friendly relations between them.

  • They will be able to carry out studies on promoting entrepreneurship and angel investing,
  • They will be able to act jointly in the activities of sustainability, green transformation, green energy, dissemination of green production activities, encouraging efficiency,
  • They will be able to carry out cooperation and awareness studies on the circular economy,
  • They will be able to provide sectoral cooperation in the production, services and agriculture sectors, to address sectoral problems and to offer solutions,
  • They will be able to work together to encourage investments for technology-oriented development such as digital transformation in industry and Industry 4.0,
  • They will engage in activities to increase the export potential and competitiveness of the members,
  • They will carry out studies to increase the level of digital maturity in all sectors,

Speaking at the meeting EGİAD President Alp Avni Yelkenbiçer, who has been carrying out important activities in the Aegean Region to date, in increasing entrepreneurship in the development of the country and the region. EGİAD He expressed that it is pleasing to consolidate these efforts between the two regions with the ancient friendship established by the Aegean Young Business People's Association and Gaziantep Business People's Association GAGİAD. Stating that the friendship and solidarity between the two associations has been crowned with cooperation, Yelkenbiçer emphasized that these protocols are very important for the development of cities. Yelkenbiçer also conveyed the foundation phase of the association and the important projects realized so far. Yelkenbiçer stated that they came to Gaziantep with great enthusiasm and desire and felt at home from the moment they set foot in the city. EGİAD Expressing that GAGİAD and GAGİAD are very similar to each other, he said, “We are very happy to be signing this protocol as two associations that follow the path of our ancestors and have made it their mission to rise to the level of modern civilizations. We are among the strongest associations among GIADs. We have been very impressed with what you have done so far and we are confident that we will now implement more together. Thanks to this protocol, friendship and cooperation between both associations has been made permanent.”

GAGİAD Chairman of the Board Cihan Koçer, in his speech at the ceremony, stated that they have established close relations with İzmir for a long time, and now they will strengthen this with cooperation.

With GAGİAD, which is among the most important GIADs in Turkey with the signed protocol, EGİAD Koçer stated that a new era will begin among Now we have to examine the world well, follow the developments closely and identify our positive and negative aspects well. In these days when competition and business models are changing rapidly and business life is moving to different dimensions, we must renew ourselves. At this point, we decided to increase our cooperation by coming with our friends from Izmir.” Stating that they will try to reach the level of modern civilizations quickly within the scope of the protocol, Koçer wished that the project would be beneficial for the associations and the country.

Afterwards, young business people who visited Gaziantep's important companies Pakten Health Products and Kara Holding Factory and saw their production facilities on site, also visited Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin in her office.
