Tank operation tests have been completed with the prototype of the Altay tank, which is planned to be used in TCG ANADOLU.

Head of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced on his official Twitter account that the tank operation tests have been completed with the prototype of the Altay tank, which is planned to be used in ANATOLIA. In this context, Demir said, “Tank operation tests of our ANADOLU ship were successfully carried out with the Altay prototype. The Altay tank, which was taken from the military shipyard with the Mechanized Landing Vehicle LCM, was first loaded onto the ANADOLU ship, then taken to the LCM again and the landing operation was carried out. With this test, which was completed today, another important stage was passed in the project. We are completing one more step with each passing day and we look forward to adding ANADOLU to our inventory.”

ANADOLU, whose construction was completed in the Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship project, which was initiated to increase Turkey's amphibious operational capabilities, started sea tests in February. TCG ANADOLU has amphibious operational capability with its 4 LCM type landing craft.

It is expected that many domestic systems will be used in ANADOLU, which will be the largest ship of the Turkish Navy in terms of tonnage and size when finished. As air power, a version of the ATAK-2 project for naval platforms is being worked on, but it is expected that 10 AH-1W attack helicopters transferred from the Land Forces to the Navy will be deployed on the ship until the project is completed.

It was learned that the mechanized landing craft built for TCG ANADOLU was launched according to the latest information. The testing process continues for FNSS ZAHA. No developments have been announced yet on the unmanned aerial and naval platforms that are expected to be used in the presence of ships.
