Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the opening of Bandırma Entrance Köprülü Junction and connection roads. Speaking at the opening, Karaismailoğlu said that we will carry approximately 30 million citizens and 60 million tons of freight per year on the Balıkesir-Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli High Speed Train Line.
Stating that the works on the Balıkesir-Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli High Speed Train Line are continuing, Karaismailoğlu said that the final tender was delivered on 22 November 2021. Pointing out that the scope of the project, which includes 56 kilometers of railway superstructure between Bursa-Yenişehir and 50 kilometers between Yenişehir-Osmaneli and both infrastructure and superstructure, has been expanded, Karaismailoğlu said, “With the second tender in 2020, the infrastructure and superstructure construction between Bandırma-Bursa with a length of 95 kilometers and the construction of 7 YHT Station. We included the build. Thus, we increased the project length from 106 kilometers to 201 kilometers at the beginning. We plan that the line, which is 201 kilometers long, will depart from the Bilecik-Osmaneli section of the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed Train line in the southwest direction and reach a length of 87 kilometers, by covering approximately 288 kilometers after leaving Yenişehir in the direction of Bandırma and from Karacabey to the south. When our project is finished; We will carry approximately 30 million citizens and 60 million tons of cargo per year,” he said.
