Karaismailoğlu made inspections on Ceylanpınar Kızıltepe Road, Kızıltepe Southern Reconstruction Ring Road and Kızıltepe - Mardin Airport Collector Roads. Making a statement after his examinations, Karaismailoğlu said that they have made very important investments in Turkey's transportation and communication infrastructure in 20 years in line with the Transportation and Logistics Master Plan.

During the AK Party governments; the length of divided highways across the country; Karaismailoğlu stated that they took it from 6 thousand 100 kilometers and took it over 28 thousand 720 kilometers, “We crossed the impassable mountains with tunnels, valleys with bridges and viaducts. We took the tunnel length on our highways from 50 kilometers and increased it to 663 kilometers. We also extended the length of the bridge and viaduct to 730 kilometers. We made the airline the way of the people. We increased the number of airports from 26 to 57. We said, 'There will be no place in the world that we cannot reach,' and thankfully we have achieved this goal to a large extent. In our country, the number of vehicles increased from 20 million to 8 million in 26 years, while vehicle mobility increased by 172 percent. In the last 20 years, we have increased the length of the divided highway approximately 5 times with our investments during the term of our governments. Our highway investments started to bear fruit. When we look at the accident data for 2021, a decrease of 82 percent was achieved in traffic accidents.

WE INVESTED 5.8 BILLION TL IN MARDIN'S TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE

Emphasizing that they have invested 20 billion 5 million liras in 850 years in the transportation and communication infrastructure of Mardin, which has received the investments it deserves in the field of transportation and communication, as in all other sectors of Turkey, Karaismailoğlu gave the following information about the investments:

“We have increased the 28-kilometer divided road length in our ancient city, approximately 9 times, to 272 kilometers. During our governments, in Mardin; We have completed the construction and repair of a single road of 65 kilometers. We have put 372 kilometers of hot bituminous paved roads and 51 bridges into the service of the people of Mardin. The project cost is 2 billion 374 million liras in total; We continue our asphalt renewal works of Mardin-Midyat Road, Ceylanpınar-Kızıltepe Road, Batman-Hasankeyf-Gercüş-Midyat Road and various sections of the municipal network of Nusaybin and Derik districts. We reviewed our works on Ceylanpınar - Kızıltepe Road, Kızıltepe South Ring Road and Kızıltepe - Mardin Airport Roads. The total length of our project is 62 kilometers, of which 7 kilometers is Ceylanpınar-Kızıltepe Road, 5 kilometers is Kızıltepe South Ring Road and 74 kilometers is Kızıltepe-Mardin Airport Roads. So far within the scope of the project; We have completed the 32-kilometer section of the Ceylanpınar-Kızıltepe road at the surface coating level. We will start the bituminous hot pavement work as soon as possible. On Kızıltepe South Ring Road; We have completed the 2-kilometer section at the sub-base level. Along with the basic ground works in the 3,3-kilometer section, we continue the soil and art-building works in the 1,7-kilometer section. We aimed to complete the project, which we tendered in November 2021, in May 2023.”

TRAFFIC AT THE CITY CROSSING OF KIZILTEPE SOUTH RECONSTRUCTION RING ROAD WILL BE TAKEN OUT OF THE CITY

Karaismailoğlu stated that with the completion of the Kızıltepe Southern Reconstruction Ring Road, the traffic in the city crossing of the Kızıltepe district, which is on the International South TETEK axis, will be taken out of the city.

“Thus, the density and accidents caused by the transit traffic between Şanlıurfa-Habur Border Gate and Şırnak will decrease in the city. The traffic density on the Mardin-Kızıltepe divided road, which provides the connection between Diyarbakır-Mardin and Habur, is very high. Thanks to the completion of Kızıltepe - Mardin Airport collector roads, traffic safety will be increased in the 5-kilometer section between Mardin Airport and Kızıltepe, where settlements are concentrated. Our project will contribute to the economic development of the region and increase the welfare of the people of Mardin. A safe transportation corridor will also be completed,” he said.

THERE ARE NO REGIONAL DIFFERENCES IN OUR SERVICE APPROACH

Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “There are no regional differences in our understanding of service. There is need, importance and urgency. There is holistic development. There is an understanding of investing in every corner of Turkey at the same time. North-South, East-West, regardless of whether the need of our nation, there is the determination to serve there. We do that, thank goodness."

Expressing that they love and value Mardin, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that they have increased their investments in the field of transportation and communication in Mardin, which has suffered from terrorism for years, in the environment of trust and stability provided. Noting that they brought Mardin together with safer and more comfortable ways, Karaismailoğlu said, “Besides highways, we are carrying out serious studies in all transportation modes in our Mardin. Being the shining star of history, civilization and culture; We are working day and night with all our central and provincial organizations to move Mardin, which is located at the crossroads of geography, climate and cultures, much further in the field of transportation and communication.”
