The FIVB Under-19 Beach Volleyball World Championship, organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with the cooperation of Dikili Municipality, Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF) and International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) with the sponsorship of AXA Sigorta, started today. Bahadır Utku Kesgin – Furkan Ramazan Kaplan duo won the first qualifying match in the championship organized by Southwest Sports (SWS) in Dikili.
Kesgin-Kaplan duo defeated Deloshem-Guther from South Africa 2-0. Ecem Aksoy-Doğa Öcal duo lost 2-0 to Kubiak-Showalter from the United States, and Su Nowm-Ceylin Sayar duo from Costa Rica to Rodríguez-Aguilar duo. Sacit Kurt-Ahmet Can Tür also lost 2-0 to Bulgacs O.-Teteris from Latvia.
The international organization was followed by the Mayor of Dikili, Adil Kırgöz, and many local and foreign volleyball lovers.
With the qualifying matches played today, the teams that made the main table in men and women will be determined.
