Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which has carried out different activities in line with this theme, is preparing to host the 23rd TURKSOY Opera Days due to the fact that Bursa was chosen as the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World.

The countdown has begun for the 23rd edition of TURKSOY Opera Days, which is held every year in cooperation with the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, TURKSOY and the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet. The concert series, which will start in Bursa, the Cultural Capital of the Turkish World, will then continue in Izmir and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The concert will be held at Atatürk Congress and Culture Center Osmangazi Hall on Thursday, September 15, with the organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and TÜRKSOY, accompanied by the Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Fine Arts.

Damla Burcu Kılıç Sayın, an artist from İzmir State Opera and Ballet, will take the stage to represent the Republic of Turkey at TURKSOY Opera Days. In concerts, besides Turkey, Fatima Jafarzade-Ayyub Gulıev from Azerbaijan, Uralhan Seilbekova-Shynggys Rassylkhan from Kazakhstan, Lulia Babich-Elgiz Beishenbaev- Atakhan Aıbek Uulu from Kyrgyzstan, Malıka Normatova from Uzbekistan, Demirağ and Hav from TRNC. Eleonora Djodjoska from North Macedonia will perform. Opera artists from the countries of the Turkish world will present examples of world classics and national opera arias of their countries, accompanied by the Bursa Regional State Symphony Orchestra.

The 2022rd TURKSOY Opera Days will be dedicated to Amirov, since 23 was declared by the Permanent Council of TURKSOY as the year of commemoration of the famous Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov. The concert, which will start at 15:20 on Thursday, September 00 at Atatürk Congress and Culture Center Osmangazi Hall, will be open to the public and free of charge.

At the event, a photography exhibition consisting of Fikret Amirov's artistic works and photographs from his private archive will also be presented to the attention of art lovers. The concert series, which will continue in Izmir and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus after Bursa, will end on September 22, 2022.
