Studies were started with the instruction of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş for the application of Student Subscription to be valid on TCDD trains that travel between Ankara and Polatlı, which will provide ease of transportation for students from the capital city.
After the use of student subscription cards in Başkentray as of April 18, 2022, at the UKOME meeting held on June 14, 2022, it was decided that student subscription cards would also be valid on suburban train services serving between Polatlı and Ankara. After the EGO General Directorate and TCDD General Directorate completed the joint work, the application, which would also contribute economically to the students, would be implemented as soon as possible.
However, since the Ankara-Polatlı line was designed to serve regional passenger and main line passenger trains, and the traffic of the trains was planned according to the TSI (central administration of trains with signals) system by TCDD; It has been stated that there are no permanent traffic and security personnel at the stops and stations, and that there is no suitable infrastructure for the establishment of a technical and physical facility system for reading the subscription cards.
Based on the stated reasons, our Institution has been informed that it is not possible to implement the UKOME decision taken to make the Student Subscription application valid on the Ankara-Polatlı line.
