Ali Sürmeli was born on April 7, 1959 in the Solhan district of Bingöl. He is a Turkish theater and film actor.
He is originally from the village of Muş – Varto Omerian, of Zaza descent. His father was a postman who worked in many cities in Anatolia. Due to his father's duties, he was in Solhan, Karlıova, Elazığ, Palu, Kovancılar, Diyarbakır and Bursa. Sürmeli graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSGSÜ) State Conservatory "Theater" (1985), and worked at the Street Theater, Dostlar Theater and the General Directorate of State Theaters. He acted in movies and TV series. Her first leading role was in the movie Dream, Real, Bir de Cinema, directed by Tülay Eratalay in 1995. He became known on television with the series Deli Yürek. He played the character of Uncle Zaza in the series Kurtlar Vadisi Ambush. Later, he played the role of Cansiz in the TV series Collision.
