40,38 Percent Increase in Water in Istanbul

With the unanimous decision of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council, a 40,38 percent increase in water was made in Istanbul.

İSKİ's request for a raise was evaluated at the IMM Assembly meeting.

İSKİ demanded that the price of 8.33 liras for first-level residences be increased to 99.87 liras with a 16.65 percent increase.

However, the request was revised and with the unanimous decision, a 40.38 percent increase in water was made in Istanbul. The unit price of the water used in the house increased to 11.69 TL.

In the statement made by İSKİ after the water increase decision, it was stated that the unit price will be calculated lower with the implementation of the free human water usage right.
