The Village Schools Exchange Network Association (KODA), which organizes a campaign to support village teachers in the Istanbul Half Marathon, is looking for new runners to join them.

Village Schools Exchange Network (KODA) will run for #KoydeBeyiEducation at the Istanbul Half Marathon, which will take place on March 27. Aiming to reach 100 runners, the association will organize Basic Training Camps to support the personal and professional development of teachers working in villages with the donations it will collect thanks to its runners.

Anyone can run in the Istanbul Half Marathon. There are no requirements for volunteers to be athletes or have a runner background. Anyone who registers until March 15 can run for village schools in the Istanbul Half Marathon.

Those who want to run on behalf of KODA, after registering as runners, simply create a registration through Adım Adım and spread their campaigns. Village teachers will be supported by donations to campaigns.

“Village teachers are building our future”

Menekşe Canatan, KODA Communication and Resource Development Coordinator, talked about the importance of supporting village teachers and said, “Village teachers are building our future. It is our duty not to leave them alone in their places of duty and to support them personally and professionally. We should support both the personal and professional development of our village teachers, who often do much more than a teaching profession for a village. Empowering village teachers is the most important step for better education in the village.

Canatan continued his words as follows: “For this reason, as KODA, we have been continuing our activities together with our teachers for 5 years. We ensure that they receive training from expert trainers on the subjects they need, and we open areas to support their learning practices from each other. We have also prepared our Basic Training Camps for this purpose. We had more than 100 village teachers attend the camp, which we held for the first time last year. This year, we need more runners and donors so that more teachers working in villages can benefit from these trainings.”
