Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that the confusion in the penalty fee on highways and bridges will come to an end and said, “The citizen has OGS, but it passes through HGS. HGS fines him because there is no money. However, there is money in OGS. We have a bill regarding it," he said.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu reminded that those who pass through highways and bridges without paying a toll, are fined 4 times the fee and said, “The citizen has HGS and OGS. If there is money in OGS, it goes through HGS. HGS fines him because there is no money. However, there is money in OGS. We have HGS them all in the past days. We have a bill on it. We will send it to the Parliament within a month,” he said.

According to the news of Ebru Karatosun from Turkey, Karaismailoğlu stated that the regulation will also simplify the number of authorization certificates from A1 to T3, which must be obtained to serve in passenger and freight transportation.

“SHIP PASSING IN THE RANGE OF 43 THOUSAND”

Minister Karaismailoğlu, who also made evaluations about Canal Istanbul, said, “The average range of 22-24 thousand ships pass through the Suez Canal. Ships pass in the range of 43 thousand in our country. Not the old ships anymore. Ships are getting bigger. The number of ships carrying large and dangerous cargoes is increasing. Smaller ships are dwindling. In the last 10 years, the number of vessels smaller than 150 meters decreased by 36,9 percent, the number of vessels between 150-200 meters increased by 50 percent, the number of vessels between 200-250 meters increased by 28 percent and the number of vessels longer than 250 meters increased by 8 percent. According to the data of the last 13 years, ships in the Bosphorus wait approximately 14 hours at each crossing. In the coming years, these waiting periods will reach 4-5 days," he said.

“ISTANBUL'S OPPORTUNITIES DO NOT ALLOW”

Stating that with Kanal Istanbul, our income will increase and it will become the logistics center of the world, Minister Karaismailoğlu said:

Istanbul's current possibilities do not allow this. Today, Singapore and the port of Rotterdam are a number of distribution centers in the world. It is in this location in Istanbul, but there is no port infrastructure at the point of being a distribution center. The opposition does not have enough room for them. Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that 37 billion dollars worth of projects have been implemented with the build-operate-transfer model to date, “All projects will be transferred to the state as of 2040. The Ministry of Transport will obtain its own budget from 2040 without the need for a central budget. It may even contribute to the central budget,” he said.
